JOHANNESBURG – Political parties are making their final push for votes ahead of the general elections as 29 May fast approaches.
We’re now less than 10 days away before South Africans make their choice and most parties have organised rallies next weekend, to convince those that are still undecided.
Traditionally, the ANC tends to surge ahead in the last weeks before voting, relying on their vast election machinery. 
The ruling party has been steadily losing support since their highest peak in 2004, when they achieved a two thirds parliamentary majority. Exit polls are unanimous in predicting a drop of below 50% for the first time in 30 years.

There’s no doubt that Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal, the top two provinces with the most registered voters will be hotly contested.
While the numbers may fluctuate for the top three parties, the emergence of uMkhonto weSizwe led by Jacob Zuma has thrown the proverbial spanner in the works.
