SA Helderberg
Extremely Rare, 40 year old , 1:200 scale container vessel model built in 1977 by acclaimed ship model builder Modelos Navales Riera, Barcelona, Spain at the bequest of the vessel owner Safmarine Corp.
Modelos Navales was selected to build a limited number of models to commemorate the christening of the S.A. Hilderberg in which was built by Chantiers de France-Dunkerque in 1977-78.
With a capacity of 2468 TEUS, the vessel was one of the largest of its class at the time.
Fully encased with dimensions of 59.5”L x 11.5”W x 15.25”H.
I have an email in hand dated Oct 2014,from the model builder as follows:
Dear Sir,
Please be informed this ship model was built almost 40 years in our old workshop at Paseo Colon.
We are very glad to see the great condition of the model after several years.
The current value would be around 10.000 EUR.
