ESTATE SALE LIQUIDATION from FAMOUS ATTORNEY and ROCKHOUND; FOSSIL WHALE EAR... It weighs 78 grams and measures about 2" at its longest edge.  The whale ear bone is also known as Tympanic Bulla from the Miocene Epoch which makes it about 15 million years old.   Whale ear bone are more readily fossilized than other bones because they are denser.  They were specially developed to protect the delicate auditory tissues of the animal.   Whale ear bones have been used in healing rituals by Shamans and Native American medicine men.  The stand is not included.  There is a chip on one end, which is kind of cool, now you can see what the inside looks like!!
